1.THE ALLIANCE OF TOURIST GUIDES ON TOP OF IRAN
A year ago it was decided but on 6th of August it was accomplished. Mount Damavand was the host of members of tourist guide association. the presence of members from provinces that are always supportive of the association was impressive. Tourist guides from provinces such as Markazi, Ardebil, Tehran, Qom, Qazvin, Isfahan, Hamedan, Khouzestan, Fars, Yazd, East Azarbayjan, Alborz and Gilan had gathered together to set foot on top of Iran. They had a goal greater than ascending. All at once cried out and hand in hand decided to accomplish the goals of 2017 tourist guides convention as well as possible.
34 allies had come together and 24 of them set foot on mount Damavand summit. 15 members had this pleasant experience for the first time. What was interesting was that 3 members were actually beginners and their very first mountain climbing experience was climbing mount Damavand. What a beautiful first experience indeed! We shall not ignore women climbers whose presence was both an honor and a representation of the ambitious characteristic of the group. With a company including 6 of them and 3 of them getting successful in making it to the Damavand summit a lasting memory was created.
The main reason of this ascension to Damavand was to support the international convention of tourist guides in 2017 in Iran. For this reason a banner with the campaign slogan and logo on it was flown at an altitude of 5671 meters.
Iran; friendly faces, open arms,
Ancient cultures, timeless charms
Naeem Ajil Foroushan, the manager of Robotic Naj, did the aerial shooting of this event and that was how such an unforgettable images and sweet memories left their traces in our minds.
The group experienced supervisor and mountain guide, Mr. Parviz Shojaee Parsa had a grave responsibility which he successfully fulfilled. Mountain climbing with these friends created a pleasant and educational experience for the supervisor assistant (writer of these lines). Part of the expenses of this program was undertaken by participants and part of it by Zoraq Company. The tourist guides are grateful for these supports and cooperation. The event finished with a heartwarming welcome from Alborz province tourist guides association in Plour encampment. Our colleagues in Alborz province appreciated the efforts of mountain climbers on behalf of all tourist guides associations.
2.PASARGADAE, AGHAMIR HUMAN RIGHTS COTTAGE – A KNOT IN PEACE CARPET
Arriving in Fars province, Kamin, the old central district in Pasargadae, a world heritage, welcomed the cross-country cycling team members whose aim is to support Iran WFTGA 2017 convention and its messages:
“Iran; Friendly Faces, Open Arms, Ancient Cultures, Timeless Charms”
“Water Management” and “Sport for Life” all along their journey from the Caspian Sea
(Nowshahr) to the Persian Gulf (Bushehr).
Being very much behind 2017 convention, Aghamir tourism and environmental resort had designed a carpet named “The Peace Ambassador” that was shown in the presence of the cyclists and its members beside the tomb of Cyrus the Great for the first time. Lastly, the emblematic knots were knotted on the carpet by the cycling team.In retrospect, on 11th September 2015, Aghamir was assigned by Arash Nooraghayee to design and weave the carpet. Having studied and analyzed old carpets and using mythological symbols, the carpet’s borders were designed and the convention’s logo and slogan were centred on its medallion by Aghamir, where it had already designed and woven several unique carpets like the one patterned with bear and green carpet. Furthermore, the environmental message “Water Management”, “Sport for Life”, the peace and freedom message of Persia, the ancient symbols of the district and the movement of tourist guides and athletes are all inextricably interwoven with passion threads in the masterpiece charmingly.
The carpet’s features:
The white background of the carpet depicts the peace-loving and sagacious soul of Iranians that is based on the principles of freedom and wisdom. Taking into consideration that the carpet is being woven by tourist guides and guests in Aghamir, a human rights cottage in Pasargadae, the district of peace and freedom, it is named “The Peace Ambassador”. Moreover, its final knots are going to be woven with the attendance of tourist guides from all over the world in Iran. In addition, the carpet has been made up of 300,000 knots on a 130 × 150 loom.
The slogans “Water Management” and “Sport for Life” are combined with Iranian lotus flower and country flags of the world that symbolise the global village. Using Iranian colours is also the other feature of the carpet.
Publicising 2017 convention and one of its most important achievements, supporting orphans and battered children by providing them a homeless shelter as their house under the supervision of Aghamir, is one of the aims in weaving the carpet “The Peace Ambassador”. With the aim of establishing job opportunities for women who support their families, it is supposed to hold a number of workshops for traditional and local hand-woven products, teddy bears, environmental dolls and a variety of carpets. Cooking local foods, holding a craft fair and local residence are also amongst the other features of the house
Staying at Aghamir cottage and being familiar with Pasargadae tourism attraction, the cyclist team members rode towards Perspolis (Takhte Jamshid) via Ghasrodasht Street in memory of Mohammad khan Zarghami (RIP), the man whose act of great generosity will never be forgotten.
